Living Unarmed In The War Zone

Many of us believers can be shallow sometimes. We think and act as if there is nothing more to life than the physical world we see with our eyes and hear with our ears and smell with our noses. Believers we are under attack and do not even know it. Satan is a crafty enemy and oftens strikes in the places and ways we expect least. Satan loves it that many believers do not take him seriously. Let us pray that the Lord would open our Spiritual senses to the unseen things.

Ephesians 6:10-13

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.

Something to think about

IS THIS YOU?

Today we live our lives at a very rapid pace. It is ironic the technology that was supposed to make our lives easier has given us a bigger work load and a longer work week. If you have children or are caring for older family members, which many people do, the load only gets heavier. How are we supposed to fit time for God and Bible study in?

BIBLICAL REFLECTIONS

We can not do this on our own, due to our sinfulness. Galatians 2:20-21 speaks of the process of dying to oneself and living by faith in Christ and that Christ is the only way for us to be righteous. So how do we die to oneself and live by faith in an everyday practical way? It is not going to be easy. In Mark 9:17-24, the man asks Jesus to heal his demon possessed son if he could. Jesus responded by saying, "If you can?" Then the father responded, "I do believe, help me overcome my unbelief." We are going to face obstacles in growing deeper in our walk with Christ.

Maybe we might wake up 30 minutes earlier, not have our children involved in extra-curricular activities every night of the week. Maybe instead of watching TV or reading a mystery fiction novel we might pick-up God's Word and read, meditate, and pray. We will need God's help in making him our number one priority in our lives. We have much fighting for our attention. Let us pray like the man in Mark, Lord we want to make time for you, help us to make more time for you. The task I give you is not an easy task I warn. The enemy, Satan, will put anything and everything in your way the more serious you become about God, His Word, and living it out. You will have to give stuff up and make sacrifices. Jesus left heaven and died on a cross for us, why can't we give him some of our TIME daily? The more we study and meditate on God's Word and pray the easier it will be for us to be Christ-like throughout the week and carry Jesus into our everyday lives.

Philippians 4:13
-I can do all things through him who gives me strength.
